Aston Martin Racing was able to top the 85th 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race after snatching the GTE Pro lead on the final lap.
In the last 45 minutes, Jonny Adam of Aston Martin and Jordan Taylor of Corvette pitted at the same time. Both cars exited the pit lane with Adam catching up to Taylor's rear end, heating up the competition even more. Aston Martin's 2nd position made the need to maneuver pass its rival on the track inevitable.
“We had zero mistakes and we did our best to keep the car out of the pits as often as we could and just try and run a consistent pace throughout."
Driven by British Jonny Adam, #97 Aston Martin Vantage was able to take the lead position in the final lap of the endurance race. The position was given away by the #63 Corvette driven by Jordan Taylor, after presumably puncturing a tire during the last minutes of the race. Adam found his way into the lead as the Corvette run wide at the 2nd Mulsanne corner.
Partnered by fellow British driver Darren Turner and Brazilian Daniel Serra, the Aston Martin trio, with their V8 Vantage GTE, showcased flawless performance until the checkered flag.
