Subaru PH eyes price hike as peso weakens

Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. (MIPI), the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, announced that they will be increasing the price of the XV, Forester, and Levorg due to the decline of Philippine Peso against U.S. Dollar.

The projected increase is around P20,000 to P30,000, which will be effective January 1, 2017.

Toll fees on NAIA Expressway free for 1 month

Traversing the newly opened sections of NAIA Expressway will be free of charge for 1 month. The operator of the NAIA Expressway, San Miguel Corp., said that fees will be waived for motorists coming from Skyway and Villamor; going to Macapagal and NAIA Terminal 1 & 2. In addition, fees are waived for motorists coming from Macapagal and NAIA Terminal 1 and 2; going to NAIA Terminal 3, Villamor, and Skyway.

Toyota’s intelligent clearance sonar tech reduces parking accidents

Toyota Motor Corporation concluded that the intelligent clearance sonar (ICS) system of the Alphard, Vellfire, and the Prius significantly reduced pedal misapplication and vehicle reversing accidents in parking spaces. 

With the system’s automatic braking and sonar sensors, there was a decrease of 70% in pedal misapplication accidents, while vehicle reversing collisions dropped by nearly 40%.

Suzuki debuts sleeker all-new 2017 Swift

Suzuki Japan reveals the all-new 4th generation Swift. The Japanese marque’s flagship compact car finally gets a much-needed update after 6 years – and it’s sleeker than its predecessor, with a new safety package in place as an option.

The all-new Suzuki Swift will be available in the showrooms in Japan starting January 4, 2017. However, its world debut is set on the 2017 Geneva Motor Show that will happen in March.
