2017 Lexus IS makes PH debut

The 2017 Lexus IS made its Philippine debut months after its global reveal last April at the Beijing International Auto Exhibition. It comes with an updated exterior, as well as a revamped interior but still maintains its signature aggressive, sleek look.

The 2017 IS is powered by a 3.5L engine that delivers 312 hp and 378 Nm of torque. It is then mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Win a Lexus NX 200t with Caltex, Robinsons Christmas promo

Caltex and Robinsons have come up with a Christmas promo, which gives Robinsons Rewards Card members a chance to win a brand new luxury car. Robinsons Rewards members will earn 1 e-raffle entry for every P 1,000 single-receipt purchase at participating Caltex stations and Robinsons stores nationwide. The lucky winner will drive home a Lexus NX 200t and get a year’s worth (P 100,000 worth of StarCash) of free Caltex with Techron fuel.

The promo will run until January 16, 2017 and winners will be announced on February 27.

Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda to head new EV division

Toyota Motor Corp. appointed its president, Akio Toyoda, to head the company’s electric car division. This news affirms Toyota’s commitment to develop electric vehicles (EVs). Toyoda will lead the company’s electric vehicle planning department along with executive vice presidents Mitsuhisa Kato and Shigeki Terashi.

As a review, Toyota is a brand who at first did not consider investing heavily on EVs because they saw great potential in hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. However, the current trend in the automotive industry is leaning towards EVs.
