BMW 30 Years M3

BMW unveiled a special edition M3 model called the “30 Years M3.” Limited to just 500 units worldwide, this car comes with distinct styling cues that give tribute to the 1st generation model that came out in 1986.

From the outside, the car is finished off with sleek paintwork called Macao Blue metallic, the same paint color that was once made available as a special option for the 1st gen M3. In addition, it features the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, a front fender with M gills and 30 Years M3 logo. The rear is highlighted by the black chrome-painted M exhaust tips.

The same commemorative theme is seen in the interior. Aside from the door sills that flaunt the 30 Years M3 logos, the specially-designed front passenger M sports seats also display the said insignias on the headrests. To personalize the style, each of the car’s 500 units also comes with a unit number indicator on the instrument panel’s carbon fiber strip (i.e. 30 Years M3 1/500). Other interior features include seats wrapped in full Merino leather with a choice between two 2-tone colors; Black/Fjord Blue or Black/Silverstone with color-contrasting seams.

Following the latest generation M3’s optional Competition Package, the 30 Years M3 unleashes 450 hp from its M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. This is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed M dual-clutch automatic that helps it to achieve a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration rate of 4 seconds. Aside from this, the 30 Years M3 also rides on an Adaptive M sports suspension that’s attached to a set of 20-in M Light Alloy wheels.

Other features include new springs, dampers and stabilizers, optimized driving modes (Comfort, Sport, and Sport+), Active M differential on the rear axle, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
