Chevrolet colorado centennial edition

Just as hinted earlier this month, the Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCI) brings in the Colorado Centennial Edition — a special version of the American truck that commemorates the 100 years of Chevy trucks rolling on- and off-the-road.

The official distributor of Chevrolet cars in the Philippines celebrates this milestone with the rest of the world, backed by a global reputation that lasted a century. With a pickup truck that looks this good, it can sure stir the range of trucks currently available locally.

The Colorado Centennial Edition is a dressed-up version of the range-topping LTZ variant of the midsize pickup truck. It comes with a different bowtie badge that’s a throwback to the first blue Chevrolet logo that appeared in Chevy trucks in 1918. It also bears the ‘100-year’ badge by the door panels, as well as the unique build number (displayed as badges) by the door and hood for added exclusivity.

To complement the look, the Centennial Edition comes with exterior updates in black like fender flares, side step board, 18-inch rims, sport roll bars, bedliner, and decals on the hood from the LTZ variant.

Inside, the Colorado Centennial Edition gets the same amenities as the LTZ variant. This includes leather upholstery, remote engine start, 8-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and automatic climate control.

It’s also powered by the same engine that can be found in the top-spec variant — the class-leading 2.8L Duramax turbodiesel mill that can produce up to 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque. This is then transferred to all 4 wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. And yes, it’s still capable of towing up to 3.5 tons and wading bodies of water of up to 800mm.

For safety, the special edition variant comes with forward collision alert, front/rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, dual front airbags, and tire pressure monitoring system. It also comes with an array of safety tech features like Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA), Roll-Over Mitigation (ROM), and Trailer Sway Control (TSC).

The 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition in Summit White will be available in Chevrolet showrooms starting November 30, 2017 with a sticker price of P1,848,888 — around P160,000 increment from the 4x4 LTZ variant.

If you want to take a peek at this special edition variant in metal, it will be showcased in the Chevrolet Motorama event at SM Megamall from November 30 to December 6, 2017.
