After 5 rounds, the 2015 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship will see its 6th and final round unfold on November 8, 2015 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS).
As it stands, the GT300 and GT100 titles are already in the bag. But a fierce battle still rages on between the drivers vying for the GT200 and GT150 championships.
Unchallenged for most of the season, Willie Torres and his W-Autosport Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII can just cruise towards the line because of his 170 points advantage.
Meanwhile, it’s a different story down in GT200. Richmon Dela Rosa has to do the best he can to defend his slim 2 points advantage over Walter Zamora.
Almost the same situation can be seen in GT150 as a 3-way battle brews between Patrick Dela Rosa, NR Joaquin, and Dindo De Jesus for the class championship.
Finally, the story down in GT100 wraps up with Ivan Diaz already claiming this year’s class title. Because of consistently winning every single round so far, he now has a commanding 123 point lead with 1 more race to go.
Also sharing the action on the track are the support races. These include the Philminiracers Championship Series and the Classic Aspirated Cup. There’s also the Sparco Bracket Racing, which is now a full-fledged track day event featuring a Bracket and Grid Race, and a Track Attack Challenge.
The 2015 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship is sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by Yokohama Tires Sales Philippines, Inc. (YTSP), Sparco, and Aguila Auto Glass. It is also supported by Speedlab as the official pace car dyno provider.
