DPWH BGC-Ortigas Center Link groundbreaking ceremony

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) revealed a P1.6 Billion road project that will link two cities in Metro Manila.

The Bonifacio Global City (BGC) – Ortigas Center Link Road Project will connect the central commercial district of Pasig City and Taguig City. This will also lead to the improvement of accessibility between the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Taguig, and Makati.

The 961.427-lineal meter road project involves the construction from Sta. Monica to Lawton Bridge. It also includes Lawton Avenue in Makati City and Sta. Monica Street in Pasig City, along Lawton Avenue onwards to the BGC entrance.

“Travelling between the central business districts of Taguig and Pasig Cities will only take 12 minutes and traffic congestion at EDSA and C-5 Road particularly along Guadalupe Bridge and Bagong Ilog Bridge will be alleviated by about 25 percent.”

The project will be headed by Undersecretary Emil Sadain and Project Director Virgilio Castillo of DPWH, along with its partner contractors Persan Construction Inc. and Sino Road and Bridge Company Limited Inc.

Villar added that it is one of the many groundbreaking events, as the country progresses towards the Golden Age of Infrastructure.

The project is expected to be accomplished by 2020.
