Mazda Safety Rating IIHS

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is among the influential nonprofit organizations in the U.S. when it comes to rating vehicles’ safety. Their most coveted citation is the ‘Top Safety Pick+.’ Basically, a vehicle that gets this safety rating should give its owner/driver the confidence he or she needs for a worry-free drive.

Among the car brands that consistently get the Top Safety Pick+ rating is Mazda, and this year, their whole fleet is rated with the said designation. That says a lot when it comes to the safety of their vehicles.

The Japanese marque’s most recent model to get the Top Safety Pick+ is the all-new CX-5. Although, this isn’t really a surprise as the 5-seater compact crossover have been designated with this rating ever since it was launched in 2012. Nice.

To get the Top Safety Pick+, the vehicle should get the highest “Good” rating in 5 crashworthiness tests; “Advanced” or “Superior” rating in front crash prevention; and “Acceptable” or “Good” headlight rating. The all-new CX-5 was able to ace all categories this year to get the award.

To Mazda, safety is about empowering the driver as much as helping to protect him or her. We’re proud of the accomplishments of the CX-5 development team and appreciative of the IIHS’s recognition.

Locally, the all-new CX-5 is equipped with proactive safety features such as lane departure warning and lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, active driving display, and 12-split array adaptive LED headlamps. These features prevent accidents before they even happen.

Moreover, every Mazda vehicles come with YOJIN3 Total Care – an aftermarket perk that ensures the safety of your wallet when it comes to repairs, maintenance, parts, and even concierge services for the first 3 years of owning one. What more can you ask for, really.
