Striding under the theme “Progress in Motion”, the folks behind the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) has prepped this year’s Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) with what is geared to be this year’s ultimate 4th quarter motoring headliner, ushering in the latest developments surrounding the Philippine automotive industry and its relevant contributions to the betterment of the nation via a throwback to the many milestones that have shaped the local motoring world as we know it today.
Converging for the 5th PIMS are 17 of the country’s top automotive manufacturers and distributors, namely BAIC, BMW, Daewoo, Honda, Isuzu, JEEP, JMC, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Suzuki, Toyota, and Volkswagen.
In preview, these automotive brands will be showcasing the latest and most popular nameplates in their fleets. For starters, the newest kid on the block, BAIC will make its public debute, and already, an extensive line-up of automotive displays like their A1 Hatchback, A1 Sedan, A5 Senova, MZ40 and X424 will be on their frontline.
Following their success in the high-end market, BMW has prepped up a family reunion of its X Series, spotlighting the 3rd generation BMW X3, leading up to the unveiling of the latest BMW X model to join the premium mid-size SUV segment.
Known for contributing hugely for a safer and more environmentally-friendly commute, Daewoo will give a sneak-peek in to their latest bus concepts for public transport/leisure/travel, and special vehicles.
Still brimming from excitement following the launch of their newest model, Lexus’ new NX Luxury Crossover SUV will be on their spotlight.
Paving the way for the country’s K craze, Kia will flaunt the latest color variants of the Kia Picanto and the Kia Soul. And that’s not all, for they will be launching the Team Kia, combining the Filipinos’ two greatest passions - automobiles and basketball.
Speaking of twos, Honda will be on display with their twin babies, the recently-launched Brio and the Brio Amaze, while the off-road hot-shot Jeep will demo their latest off-roading technologies fitted on the latest Wrangler Rubicon, Grand Cherokee, and the new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.

As Lexus’ first entry in to the highly-competitive segment, the new NX is built under the “Premium Urban Sports Gear” concept, addressing that need to break barriers and appeal to new market, especially those whose lifestyles are governed by that sense uf urban adventure.
Mazda will be on a celebratory roll, as they will highlight the all new Miata 25th Anniversary Edition, while Mercedes-Benz’ newest CLA-Class has the German automaker all prepped up and ready for some sophisticated public unveiling, along with their latest line-up of luxury compact cars like the A-class and B-Class.
Among the Japanese leaders in the automotive technology, Mitsubishi will make the 5th PIMS the perfect setting to unveil two of their latest concept cars, the GR-HEV and the CA-MIEV, with their updated versions of the Outlander, the 2015 Pajero, and the awesome Pajero Dakar Rally Car, completing the roster.
Aside from the already successful Almera, Altima, Patrol Supper Safari, and the Sylphy, the people from Nissan have set things up for the unveiling of their all-new and completely refreshed X-Trail.

Recognized for their success in both the automotive and motorcycle playing fields, Suzuki will be there to flash their latest Swift 1.2, and their newest model, the 7-seater Ertiga Life Utility Vehicle, along with their updated line-up of motorcycles for the bike enthusiasts, proving that the PIMS isn’t just for the car guys to enjoy. And, rounding off the big guys in the field are Isuzu, JMC, and Peugeot, with all three showcasing the latest and the very best technological innovations for the motoring public to behold.
Feeling all pumped up and excited? You better be, coz there’s a lot more in store, starting off with a tribute to the Philippine car culture’s 6 decades of triumph. An exhibit entitled “Progress in Motion: The Evolution of Philippine Motoring Industry” will be held, featuring 12 of the most iconic automobiles that have defined what we know today as a very thriving niche in our country’s culture.

Aside from these, an “After-Sales Exhibit” will also be held, centring on showcasing the packages on vehicle upgrades, repair services, and quality genuine parts for different vehicle models, old and new. Also, rounds of Automotive Seminars and Workshops will coincide with the After-Sales Exhibit, informing and educating the general motoring public on everything surrounding the industry. Topics to be discussed include fuel-saving tips, anti-carjack measures and fool-proof guide for vehicle registration and driver’s license application.
