Facelifted Isuzu mu-X teased in Thailand

AutoDeal’s most popular SUV in 2016 is set to be refreshed in Thailand next month. The teaser video suggests that significant changes were made to its fascia, rear end, and cabin.

As seen on the video, the 2017 mu-X will be fitted with a new set of front grille. It will also have projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs). In addition to that, Isuzu’s SUV will get LED taillights and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels – both make the upcoming mu-X visually exciting.

Aside from the exterior updates, the 2017 mu-X’s cabin will get its share of refresh. The dashboard will get a wood accent as well as stitched leather – both absent in the current mu-X model available locally.

Moreover, did anyone notice the horizontal air conditioning vents at the middle of the dashboard?

Furthermore, it looks like the mu-X will retain its engine variants in the Thai market - the 1.9L Ddi Blue Power turbodiesel engine, which produces 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

On the other hand, according to paultan.org, the 3.0L turbodiesel engine will have a power rating of 177 hp and 480 Nm of torque – a 50-Nm increase from the outgoing model. With that added power, we sure do hope these numbers pull its way through the local market. Pun intended.

Although the facelifted 2017 Isuzu mu-X is set to be launched early in March in Thailand, there are still no words from Isuzu Philippines as to when will it reach the local showrooms. As of this writing, your guess is just as good as ours.
