Ferrari 812 Superfast

Italian exotic carmaker Ferrari has revealed the 812 Superfast ahead of the Geneva International Motor Show – the newest generation of the 12-cylinder sports coupe. It is dubbed to be the fastest and most powerful Ferrari in the history.

The sports coupe, which humbles to the legacies of the F12 Berlinetta and F12 TdF, packs a 6.5 L V12 engine that unleashes 800 hp at 8,500 rpm. This power comes with 718 Nm of torque under 7,000 rpm, launching it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

With this, the 812 can outrun the F12 by 0.2 seconds in a sprint showdown with 70 more hp. The increased performance was due to the adoption of the 350 bar direct-injection system, which Ferrari claims to be first in a high-performance engine.

In terms of its design, the sporty style elements of the 812 Superfast were achieved by Ferrari's in-house design group. Of note, the sleek flowing lines and stylish contour of the Superfast is coupled with peering headlamps and wider grille, while the rear features the F12's classic fastback outline.

Additionally, aerodynamics is further optimized by innovative instruments such as the active flaps at the front underbody, and the air vents featured at the vehicle’s rear flank to increase downforce.

Meanwhile, the cabin houses in a new steering wheel, edgy horizontal dash, improved ergonomic seats, and upgraded instrument clusters with latest infotainment and air-conditioning units.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast comes in a new special Rosso Settanta color, which is tributed to the Italian marque's 70th anniversary. It will be revealed in metal sheet at the Geneva International Motor Show, happening on March 9, 2017.
