A few months ago, Ford Philippines introduced the new Explorer Sport variant. This time, they’ve added another variant known as the Explorer Limited. Best part is that it’s about to hit shelves nationwide later this month.
The new Explorer Limited carries the fresh and robust exterior design of its Sport variant. This includes the restyled front fascia, heightened radiator grille, and LED headlamps. It also boasts a new rear spoiler and a closed-off lower roof rack.
Furthermore, nifty features such as a front-mounted 180-degree parking camera with washer, Front Park Assist, and hands-free liftgate are likewise standard.
The interior offers a relaxing ambiance because of the improved sound deadening capabilities. Engineers did this by retuning the engine sub-frame mounts to lessen vibration and interior noise.
Giving this new SUV a modern vibe are convenience features like the 2 smart-charging USB ports and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
But the biggest difference between it and the Explorer Sport is that it comes with a 2.3L inline 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost power plant. While the Explorer Sport’s 3.5L twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine produces a hefty 365 hp and 475 Nm of torque, this one runs lighter at 270 hp and 408 Nm of torque.
It’s also mated to a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, but unlike the Explorer Sport’s AWD system, it moves using a front-wheel-drive powertrain system.
Lastly, Ford Philippines confirmed that their customers nationwide can start driving home the new 2016 Ford Explorer Limited later this month for an SRP of P2,479,000. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line Explorer Sport variant is stickered at P2,819,000.
