Ford Philippines enters Q2 2015 with a positive vibe, as they recently announced their best-ever March performance. Retail sales for the company have increased to 40% year-over-year, with 1,877 units sold.
This achievement was fuelled with continued strength in demands for the brand’s SUVs, as well as the Ranger and the Fiesta. On top of that, this also marked Ford Philippines’ best-ever first quarter performance with a 43% increase year-over-year, amounting to 5,237 units.
“We continue to make progress on our One Ford plan, and together with our dealer partners we remain firmly committed to providing the very best customer and ownership experience,” says Ford Philippines Managing Director Kay Hart
The EcoSport compact crossover continues to up the brand’s market performance with a total of 763 units sold at the end of March. The EcoSport also holds the record for the brand’s best-selling vehicle today, with as many as 2,157 units rolling out of dealerships from January to March 2015.
Likewise, the Ranger still holds a strong platform. With a March sales performance increase of up to 41% year-over-year to 792 units, boosted with a Q1 2015 sales of up to 27% increase (2,058 units), the Ranger looks to maintain momentum as Q2 2015 begins.
As for the Fiesta, its affordability and fuel-efficient engine helped it to contribute to the brand’s March sales performance with a total of 132 units sold. Meanwhile, the premium midsize Explorer and its high-performance variant Explorer Sport managed to log 80 units in March. The same goes for the Escape’s March record, charting in a total of 80 units.
Ford remains on track with its plans to continue expanding its nationwide dealer network to a total of 40 locations this year, including the opening of Ford Malolos in Bulacan, Central Luzon next month.
Aside from their current line-up, Ford Philippines welcomed 2 new vehicles at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS): the all-new Everest and the luxurious new Expedition Platinum (which was a complete surprise launch, by the way). Gone is the Everest’s rear gate-mounted spare tire compartment, in favor of a more refined look. Meanwhile, The Expedition Platinum comes with Ford’s EcoBoost engine technology, up-market interior, and is the only model in the brand to feature a continuous controlled damping (CCD) suspension system. Availability for the Everest will be in Q3 2015, while sales of the Expedition Platinum will start in July 2015 and is priced at P3,488,000.
