Ford Philippines has achieved back-to-back Platinum award citations in the recent 2nd Driven to Serve Awards of the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalist (SPMJ).

This association acknowledges the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs of automotive companies in the field of road safety, education and training, environment protection, and community.

Ford managed to secure the Platinum award for their program, ‘Operation Better World’ (OBW) under the community development category. In 2017 alone, the American brand has already marked eight community outreach programs, including medical and dental missions in Gawad Kalinga, as well as construction of water facilities in Nueva Ecija and Batangas.

Aside from that, Ford’s globally-recognized Driving Skills For Life (DSFL) has also gained a Platinum award under the road safety category. It’s a program that intends to educate the drivers on smart and safe driving to lessen road accidents in the country.

Last year, the campaign reached almost 3,000 participants, which is the largest number of attendees in the DSFL history. The program also provided training module about distracted driving, in response to the recent implementation of Anti-Distracted Driving Act.

“The Driven to Serve Awards aims to tell the inspiring stories of the CSR projects to encourage and to inspire, to encourage those already conducting projects that make a difference to go on, and to inspire those who are about to embark on that selfless journey to go ahead.”
