Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition

Mercedes-Benz's GLS full-size SUV just gets even more luxurious this year. Set to be displayed at the 2018 North International Auto Show (NAIAS), the GLS Grand Edition is blessed with new features exclusive only for the ‘Grand Edition’ badge of its 4MATIC 450 and 550 variants .

So, how did Mercedes-Benz upscale an already luxurious model? Well, the German automaker gave it edition-exclusive components and elements inside and outside the SUV.

By starting off with the exterior, the GLS 450 Grand Edition comes with a pair of new LED Intelligent Light System and a set of 20-inch 10-spoke 2-tone wheels. The 550, on the other hand, gets a set of Active LED headlamps and 21-inch wheels. Both variants will feature a "Grand Edition" badge on the front door panels to differ itself from the regular variants.

Meanwhile, the interior expresses lavishness with its Porcelain, Espresso Brown, and 'designo' Nappa leather elements. These materials come with special diamond quilting and Budapest-design piping to add more elegance. The cabin also features open-pore brown ash trims with light stripes that goes well with the overall looks. To wrap it all up, the Grand Edition will come standard with ambient lighting and Espresso Brown velour floor mats.

The GLS Grand Edition will be powered by a 3.0L V6 engine for the 450 4MATIC and a 4.7L V8 engine for the 550 4MATIC. The smaller engine has a maximum power output of 362 hp and 500 Nm of torque, while the V8 packs 449 hp and a torque rating of 700 Nm.
