Here’s a quick look of the newly launched all-new Suzuki Ciaz

With the current popularity of subcompact sedans in the country, it's inevitable for brands to bring their own dark horse and stir up the competition. That's what Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI) just did by launching the all-new Ciaz. Here’s a quick look at this new subcompact sedan.

At first glance, the Suzuki Ciaz looks bigger than the current leading competitor of its segment by 80 mm in length, 30 mm in width, and 10 mm in height. And yes, we've checked it through the AutoDeal Car Comparison Tool. Nonetheless, we think its smooth hood, simple grille, huge head lamps, and sculpted bumpers give this subcompact a sizable appearance.

The faint character lines just above the skirts makes the Ciaz look sharp; it complements the front fascia when seen at angle. There's no sign of bulging fender flares but that's fine. The overall fierce front and side styling already gave it an advantage on appeal.

The rear end of the Ciaz, on the other hand, compliments its front visage. The tail lamps are bold and huge – with bumpers that are smooth and subtly sculpted to highlight the reflectors across.

Inside, the Ciaz looks simply elegant. The bronze plastic trim on the dash plus the leather trimmed gear knob and steering wheel completes this look.

This subcompact sedan is powered by a 1.4L gasoline engine that can produce 91 hp and 130 Nm of torque. This is then mated to choice of a 4-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. The Ciaz is rated to have an impressive combined fuel consumption of 20.5 km/L.

The Ciaz  will come in 3 variants: GL MT, GL AT,and GLX AT  It will be available at your local showrooms soon with a price tag from P738,000 to P888,000.
