New Honda Jazz

While Japan revealed the facelifted 3rd generation Honda Jazz, the 5-door hatchback gets a new dressed-up version in Thailand – the RS variant. It’s adorned with variant-unique sporty aesthetics inside and out, along with exclusive color choices.

The new Honda Jazz RS variant is equipped with a revamped grille with the RS badge, black side mirrors, and an imposing (front/rear) bumper design that’s far from the regular non-RS choice. To give you a distinction between the 2, check out the images below:

The cabin, on the other hand, gets a little fancy, too. The seat covers have a new design with orange stitching to exhume a sporty aura. If you ask us, it works and it ultimately complements a new RS variant-exclusive color option for the Jazz – the Phoenix Orange Pearl.

Sadly, though, the RS variants will only come with exterior and interior design upgrades. If you’re hoping for a turbocharged engine under its hood (just like its bigger brother Civic RS Turbo), we apologize to disappoint you but it’s not happening.

The whole Jazz lineup is powered by a 1.5L SOHC i-VTEC engine, with a maximum output of 117 hp and 146 Nm of torque. These figures aren’t far from the current local-spec Jazz. Good thing, the 7-speed paddle shift for its continuously variable transmission (CVT) is still available.

With all these mentioned, we’re just waiting for a word from Honda Cars Philippines if the facelifted Jazz will reach our shores. It most likely will, but 1 question remains – when?
