After unveiling the new look of the Mobilio in Thailand, Honda Japan revealed the facelifted Jazz (a.k.a. Fit). Aside from featuring a fresh face, the Japanese subcompact hatchback is integrated with added tech as well as a hybrid variant.
The new Jazz features a protruding bumper giving it a sportier look compared to the current model. Meanwhile, the fascia comes with new headlights, revamped bumper, and an updated grille. Aside from that, the side and rear remain the same.
Honda added that the facelifted Jazz is integrated with the brand’s advanced safety technology called ‘Sensing.’ The said safety tech is made up of several functions such as adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist system, and road departure mitigation system.
The Japan-spec Jazz will have 4 variants composed of 1 hybrid and 3 gasoline models. Under the hood, the Jazz is equipped with a choice of 1.3L or 1.5L gasoline engines. However, power output ratings and transmission options have yet to be detailed by Honda.
In case you’re wondering, the current Jazz being sold locally is powered by a 1.5L gasoline engine that delivers 120 hp and 145 Nm of torque. Speaking of which, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has yet to announce when will the facelifted Jazz arrive in local showrooms. However, we do know that HCPI is all set to launch the Jazz’s ‘cousin,’ which is the City, on May 22, 2017.
