Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Dongfeng and Honda in China, introduced a new variant of the Honda Civic that’s equipped with a 1.0L engine.
The Honda Civic 180Turbo has 2 Comfort Edition variants: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT). Both variants generate a power output of 123 hp and 173 Nm of torque.
Some of the features of the Comfort Edition manual variant are the ECON intelligent green energy-saving auxiliary system, Ultra-high-strength steel front bumper beam, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), and an inside adjustable dimming rearview mirror.
The CVT variant, on the other hand, features additional features like fog lamps, Idle-stop energy-saving automatic engine start-stop system, and an electric sunroof.
In terms of performance, Honda claims that the Civic 1.0L manual can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.6 seconds and has a top speed of 204 km/h. The CVT variant can reach 100 km/h in 11.3 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h.
The models are currently available only in China, for now. Yet, as far as the excitement relating to its 1.0L turbo engine, there are still no news from Honda Philippines whether the model is going to be available in the local dealerships.
