Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) issues a voluntary preventive recall for select City (2014 model) and Jazz (2015 model) that are sold and produced in the country. This is for an immediate update of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software installed on the vehicles.
HCPI found out that the current ECU software of mentioned models causes high stress to the Drive Pulley Shaft inside the vehicle’s Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). If not updated immediately, the stress may cause the Drive Pulley Shaft to give way which may result to serious damages to the car.
This is part of HCPI's effort to ensure the safety of the vehicle owners and their passengers. Fortunately, there hasn't been any reported incidents nor injuries in our country that's related to this problem. HCPI advises the affected models' owners to set an appointment with the nearest Honda dealerships and service centers nationwide. It will only take an hour to update the ECU software.
For the address and contact numbers of their nationwide showrooms and service centers, visit the Honda Dealerships page on AutoDeal. You can also contact them by phone at (02) 857-7240 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
