Earlier this year, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) issued a recall due to a suspected faulty airbag inflator in certain models. HCPI says select models of the Jazz, City, Civic, CR-V, Accord, and Pilot that have been sold in the Philippines from 2001 to 2015 may be affected by the issue.
The company aims to repair around 200,000 units of the affected vehicles through this vehicle recall With this, HCPI urges owners of the affected vehicles to bring their vehicles in any Honda Cars dealerships as soon as possible in order to address the issue. In case you’re wondering, there are no reported accidents or injuries in relation to the suspected faulty airbag inflator as of this writing.
HCPI encourages their customers to check their car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and run it through their website to see if their car is among those that need to be repaired.
Speaking of repairs, the service will be free of charge and will only last an hour. Customers may bring in their cars to any of the authorized dealerships and service outlets nationwide, from Monday to Saturday (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
HCPI also setup a dedicated hotline 1-800-1000-46632 or (02) 857-7240 for owners to call between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. They can also be reached via email at update@hondaphil.com.
