Honda Accord Sketch

After revealing its new set of smaller engines choices (goodbye, V6), Honda releases a sketch image of the 2018 Accord. By the looks of it, the January-released Toyota Camry has some serious competition with this model.

With that, the sporty stance and styling of the all-new Accord (and the Camry) tell us that the midsize sedan segment—which is stereotyped to be for business men—is changing its game.

Based from the sketch image, the 2018 Accord will retain the wing-type grille that extends to the sweptback headlamps of the current local-spec model. What makes it so aggressive-looking is the presence of front and side skirts, which complement the large bumper vents that house the fog lamps. This is similar to the design of the smaller Honda Civic.

What differentiates the Accord from the compact sedan is the presence of a bigger grille (although still blacked out on the sketch image) – not much of an Acura NSX deviation but it’s close.

Just a reminder, though, not all sketch teasers reveal majority of the final design, but it won’t be that far. Aside from the design, we’re also excited about the output ratings of the Accord’s new set of 1.5L or 2.0L turbocharged mills. That’s something that could make or break this car even with its bold styling.

Unfortunately, we will need to wait at least 3 weeks before its big reveal. The 2018 Accord will make its global debut in Detroit and via YouTube Livestream on July 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. EDT (July 13, 11:00 p.m. Philippine time). Set your alarms.
