Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, recently added a 15-seater variant of the Grand Starex called Super Express. The new commercial version of the van is the Korean brand’s response to the growing needs of those in the commuting business.
Designed with passenger comfort in mind, HARI claims that the Grand Starex Super Express has the widest interior space, and has more leg and hip room than most shuttle vans in the market today. In addition, this commuter also boasts flexible seating with its foldable bench-type rear seats that’s perfect for large cargo.
Meanwhile, the commuter van also boasts double sliding doors which make getting in and out easier for the passengers. Moreover, HARI says that the Grand Starex Super Express has air conditioning ducts all the way to the back, making vent hogging a thing of the past.
Giving power to this huge van is its reliable 2.5 TCI diesel engine mounted up front, mated to a 5-speed tranny. For the driver and front passenger, this means that their seats won’t heat up due to the rise of engine temperature giving a much comfortable ride. As for the power rating, the capable diesel engine can deliver up to 98 hp and 226 Nm of torque.
Future owners will be happy to know that HARI is throwing in a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty with it. The Grand Starex Super Express is already available in dealerships nationwide at an SRP of P1,398,000.
