Hyundai Tucson

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson has been regarded as the best small SUV in the latest J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study in the US.

The study surveyed more than 80,000 new car owners and examined their level of product satisfaction during the first 3 months of ownership (February to May 2016). J.D. Power laid out 77 vehicle attributes, ranging from the power response, comfort, luxury, convenience, navigation, among others. The survey results are then combined on a 1,000-point scale.

With that in mind, the 2016 Tucson yielded the best result, outscoring all other small SUVs. Hyundai said that the Tucson performed particularly well in the categories of vehicle fuel economy, seats, heating-ventilation-air conditioning (HVAC), storage, exterior, visibility, driving, interior, and audio/communication/navigation.

We are thrilled with the recognition of Tucson in this year’s J.D. Power APEAL study. The new Tucson looks great, has two fuel efficient engines and a roomy interior that satisfies a wide range of SUV buyers,”  said Scott Margason, director, product planning, Hyundai Motor America.

Locally, the Hyundai Tucson is available in 4 variants with prices starting at P1,098,000 to P1,558,000. It is powered either by a 155 hp 2.0L gasoline or a 185 hp 2.0L diesel engine.
