The Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (i-ACT) launched its web portal called “I Will Act.” With this, the motoring public can now report traffic related violations and concerns online.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Tim Orbos said during its launch that the public may fill out the complaint form with the necessary photos or videos on the web portal. Each report will then be sent to the concerned unit of the MMDA or to the proper government agency, after which the complainant will get a notification on its status within a week.

Citizens can report traffic-related concerns such as: (1) “kotong” enforcers, (2) illegally parked vehicles, (3) illegal loading and unloading, (4) bus with open doors, (5) sidewalk obstructions, (6) illegal terminals, (7) overloaded PUVs, (8) unattended excavation, (9) garbage laden waterways, among others.

According to Orbos, the MMDA only has 3,000 traffic enforcers to direct traffic around 1,000 road intersections around the metro, making it hard to manage traffic. The I Will Act web portal aims to give citizens “a venue to be part of the solution.”

You could see our predicament. It’s almost impossible to manage traffic with the present numbers. So our objective here is to empower the public and get the help of the private sector with this project,” said Orbos.

As a recap, the i-ACT is an organization formed to solve the traffic issues in Metro Manila. It is composed of government agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
