Isuzu PH marks highest monthly, annual sales in 2016

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) started the year in a positive remark as the Japanese automaker announces its sales accomplishment for last year, surpassing the forecast they made for the increase of sales in 2016.

According to the data released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), records for annual sales for 2016 skyrocketed to 27,361 units sold, coming from the 22,581 units of 2015 – 12.2% higher than the predictied 9% increase for 2016.

Meanwhile, December marks the highest monthly sales for 2016, with a total of 2,965 units sold. This is 25.4% higher than the same month of 2015 with 2,365 total sales.

Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s record sales performance in 2016 is clearly a benefit coming from a strong domestic economy that inspired consumer confidence and spending. It also mirrors the continued uptick of the entire local automotive industry, which is also enjoying unprecedented results,” said IPC President Mr. Hajime Koso.

Contributing to this increase are Isuzu’s trucks and buses, which registered 1,716 units or a whopping 219% leap over the 2015 tally. Furthermore, the deliveries of the D-MAX pickup, increased by 27.3% with 3,966 units sold.

Moreover, Koso added that changes in models and sustained promotional and marketing campaigns contributed to directing customer interest toward the brand last year. He also further added that the network of dealerships and after-sales services also helped in ensuring an upward trajectory for the company.

Remaining to be IPC’s best-selling model for 2016 is the dark horse of the midsize SUV segment, the mu-X, with a total delivery of 12,657 units, 16.1% higher than its record in the previous year. This coincides with our data, which shows the mu-X as the most bought vehicle through AutoDeal. Moreover, the Crosswind, which went 13.7% higher with 4,659 units, and the N-Series commercial trucks with 4,363 units, support the success of IPC’s flagship model.
