Isuzu Ph previews new variant of the mu-X, D-MAX, and Crosswind

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has previewed a new variant of the mu-X during the company’s off-road test drive at the SM Mall of Asia. The brand also showed the Urban Edition model of the D-MAX and the Crosswind.  

For 2016, the mu-X has a new variant – the 2.5L LS-A MT – which is fitted with a chrome radiator grille and 17-inch alloy wheels. It also features a push start button, electroluminescent instrument meters, a multi-information display, and a 7-inch touchscreen head unit. Of note, this variant comes with a cruise control function.

The mu-X 3.0L LS-A AT 4x2 was also on display at IPC’s off-road test drive event. According to the automaker, this variant comes with a rear spoiler, interior chrome garnishes, multi-information display and electroluminescent instrument meters. The vehicle also comes with a cruise control.

In terms of safety, the 3.0L LS-AT variant now features a hill start assist system. Under the hood, the mu-X is still powered either by a 2.5-liter or a 3.0-liter engine. The former delivers 134 hp and 320 Nm of torque while the latter produces 163 hp and 380 Nm.

For 2016, a new color option for the mu-X is now available – the Obsidian Grey.

On the other hand, the D-MAX Urban Edition is fitted with a restyled exterior as seen on its new grille design with matte black finish. It also gets a bumper garnish and dark alloy wheels. As of this writing, its official price has yet to be released but, IPC told that it will be around P100,000 more as compared to the standard variant.

Lastly, the Crosswind Urban Edition looks mean through its black grille, roof rails and Gun Metal rims. Adding to its overall look is a roof spoiler finished in black. IPC has yet to release its official price.
