Isuzu PH starts 2nd quarter strong with 38% rise in sales

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) starts the 2nd quarter of 2016 strong with a 37.5% year-over-year growth, making this the Japanese brand’s 2nd best sales month this year.

IPC reported that they sold 8,798 units from January to April - 2,402 units more from the same period last year. Meanwhile, April saw a 54% month-over-month increase with 2,219 units sold.

The data was compiled by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA).

Isuzu Philippines is pleasantly surprised to find out how close our sales in April came to those we have made in March, especially considering that it took the company nearly two decades to achieve that record. The result places us firmly on track to meet our year-end target, and indicates an upward trend not only for Isuzu, but also for the entire Philippine automotive industry,” said IPC President Hajime Koso.

For the month of April, the brand’s flagship SUV the mu-X led the way with 983 units sold while the D-MAX pickup truck contributed with 338 units.

The steady demand for the Crosswind helped it sell 479 units. In addition, Isuzu's AUV sold a total of 1,562 units in the first 4 months of the year. Both figures are improvements over the same period last 2015.

Lastly, Isuzu's N-Series light-duty trucks sold 355 units while its wide range of commercial trucks and busses gave the month’s sales figures a boost with 64 units. According to the Japanese marque, their trucks have enjoyed the number 1 status in its segment for 16 consecutive years.
