It's finally here – the all-new Toyota Fortuner

After more than a decade since it first entered the Philippine market, the Toyota Fortuner finally received its well deserved overhaul. Dare we say it - it couldn't have come at a much better time than now.

According to Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), its latest rendition offers “a more distinctive, sleek, and powerful design while improving its performance.” They're right.

Its front fascia sports a chromed grille, sleeker headlight design, and a mean looking bumper as compared to the previous model. It's easy to spot that the all-new Fortuner is 90mm longer because of the obvious size difference of its 3rd row windows. The theme continues on to the boot with its longer tail lights and chrome embellished nameplate. The all-new Fortuner was dropped by 15mm which we think would better serve those who have aren't gifted with height.

The all-new Toyota Fortuner is powered by a choice of 3 engines. A 2.4L 4-cylinder in-line diesel engine rated at 147 hp and 400 Nm of torque. These are available in both G and V variants. The 2.7L 4-cylinder in-line Dual VVT-I gas engine can produce up to 163 hp and 245 Nm of torque can be found in the 4x2 GAT variant. Lastly, the 2.8L 4-cylinder in-line diesel found in the top-of-the-line 4x4 V AT variant can pump out 174 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

Inside, there are steering wheel mounted controls for the new 6.5-inch Capacitive touchscreen head unit that can play DVD/CD/Tuner through USB/Aux-in/iPod/Bluetooth via 6-speakers. The panels are wrapped in hues of black, dark brown, and wood trim for the V variant while the G grade comes in a chamois, black, and wood trim. The seats are covered in leather for the top-of-the-line V variant, everything else will come standard in fabric seats. If you're the driver of the all-new Fortuner, it's nice to know that the you'll be sitting in 6-way power seats.

In the event of a collision (knock on wood), the all-new Fortuner is ready to keep its passengers safe. It comes equipped with airbags (driver, front passenger, side, curtain, knee), ABS with EBD, Immobilizer, and security alarm.

The all-new Fortuner will be available in these colors - Super White, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Gray Metallic, Phantom Brown Metallic, Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic. And for an extra P15,000 you can get a little bit more exclusive with Toyota's premium color – White Pearl.

The all-new Toyota Fortuner has a boat load of safety and entertainment features topped off with its tried and tested name plate. This makes it the perfect SUV for the emerging businessman, the mom who brings their children to school, and even the yuppie who wants to bring his friends to out-of-town trips.
