Kia Motors Corporation finally released the official images of the all-new Picanto subcompact hatchback. The Korean marque proves that their design sketches aren’t too far from the real thing – and we’re absolutely digging it.
Just like the sketches released before 2016 ended, the 3rd generation Picanto retains the red accents and bold body lines. The air vents, restyled sweptback LED headlamps, fog lamps, and mesh tiger-nose grille are all put into place at the fascia for that modern look.
Although, the images revealed are for the GT-Line variant, which explains the sporty fashion of the car. Let’s just cross our fingers that Kia Philippines brings this variant locally.
Speaking of size, the all-new Picanto retains its compact dimensions, however, its wheelbase has been extended by 15 mm which spells more legroom for its occupants. The shorter front and longer rear overhangs did the trick to keep the 3,595 mm length of its predecessor.
The cabin of the GT-Line variant is also accented with red stripes and trims, matching the sporty and energetic vibe of the exterior. It’s also fitted with a new touchscreen infotainment system, equipped with the latest in-car technology.
Kia said that the all-new Picanto can be customized with a range of trim color and upholstery choices. This is perfect for buyers who want to personalize their car – not to mention that it will be available in 11 bright paint colors.
There are no details yet about the car when it comes to its engine and specs. We’re guessing they will leak more specifics around March, just before its public reveal at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show.
