Land Rover Range Rover Velar

Following last week's teasers, Land Rover has laid out more photos and details about the Range Rover Velar – and it's conquering the coupe-SUV segment with its sleekness.

Sitting in the middle of the Evoque and Sport variants, the Velar boasts a fresh, younger face in the Range Rover family. By tweaking the signature Range Rover headlamps, the new coupe-SUV gives an impression of an aggressive peering predator; and in between the headlights is a more sporty and aerodynamic grille.

The front bumper, moreover, is able to give justice to simplicity without sacrificing aesthetic value, with its bold surface and appropriately placed vents. At the side, it is integrated with a flush door handles that pull out and retract, while a distinct character line dashes from headlight to taillight just above it.

Meanwhile, the cabin is said to sport a calming ambience, complete with high quality materials. The british marque claims that the Velar differs from all Range Rover with its optional premium textile seat material, which is apart from the standard leather upholstery. Aside from design, 2 10-inch HD touchscreens are perfectly integrated into the dash, with one dedicated for navigation and media functions, and the other for vehicle's details.

For power, the Velar is equipped with either a 2.0L diesel or a 2.0L gasoline engine as well as a more powerful 3.0L V6. The 2.0L diesel will power the car with 180 hp and a 430 Nm of torque, while the 2.0L gasoline can generate 247 hp with acceleration of 6.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The 3.0L engine, on the other hand, will generate 380 hp that would launch the car in just 5.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

The Range Rover Velar was unveiled at the Design Museum in London, ahead of its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show on March 9.
