Lexus has established itself as one of the top premium brands in the market. They also built a solid reputation in producing a number of hybrid models these past 11 years. Just recently, they sold their 1-millionth hybrid vehicle which in this case was a the Lexus NX 300h.
“With our portfolio of advanced technologies like full hybrids and Lexus Safety System +, it’s no surprise that we’ve reached this milestone,” said Alain Uyttenhoven, Head of Lexus Europe.
The NX 300h features a 2.5L gasoline engine capable of 153 hp and a Synchronous Electric Motor with 194hp, both coupled to a CVT. It boasts of a 19.23 km/L fuel efficiency and 117g/km of CO2 emission. There’s also a Start-Stop mode, which shuts off the engine during full stops, and Drive Mode Select Switch that will let make the car run solely on electricity.
The good news is that the NX 300h is locally available via Lexus Manila. It’s joined by other hybrid models such as the CT 200h compact hatchback, RX 450h SUV, GS 450h midsize sedan, and the hybrid version of their flagship sedan, LS 600h.
The hybrid automotive market is still in its early stages here in the country. And it’s good to know that Lexus is leading the way towards a cleaner environment for all of us to enjoy.
Who knows, its latest hybrid performance model called the LC 500h might even reach local shores someday. It’s got the new Multi Stage Hybrid System (MSHS) which provides more power with greater efficiency and improved acceleration and traction.
