Mazda's official distributor in the country Bermaz Auto Philippines (BAP) announced to have achieved 2,521 units sold from January to July 2017 (year-to-date). This is 14.5% higher than the sales that were made on the same period of 2016.

This is heavily contributed by the sales made in July, where Mazda Philippines managed to sell 418 units. BAP claims that this broke the sales record since it took over the distributorship in 2013. Moreover, quarterly sales have also shown positive performance as results were said to have exceeded the total from last year's.

“We are encouraged by the market’s continuous strong demand for Mazda vehicles this 2017, as in the past years since Bermaz took over the distribution. We are looking forward to a continuous push for the second half of the year as we aim to again exceed our targets."

BAP points its finger to the CX-5 and the CX-9 as both models received good amount of attention since their reveal at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in April. The demand pushed Mazda Corporation Japan to increase the shipment of the CX-5 to more than 800 units by November. The CX-9's allocation, on the other hand, will be brought up to more than 300 units.

Another model to influence the numbers is the MX-5, which shipment has come to 113 units as of January to July this year. 85 of these were the RF (retractable fastback) variant, which was unveiled together with the CX-5 and CX-9 at the 2017 MIAS. Lastly, the updated Mazda2 subcompact sedan, which now has G-Vectoring Control, is still the brand's top-selling model.

Meanwhile, Mazda has extended its Zoomfest promo until August 31, 2017, with its exciting offers.
