In its standard form, the Colorado pickup truck already evokes a very masculine aura. But Chevrolet Philippines took it a step further at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) with the introduction of a new variant, the Colorado Tracker Edition 4x4.
Slotted as the Colorado’s latest range-topping variant, this edition is packed with off-road-ready enhancements that make traversing the rough and beaten path all the more exciting. Adding to its 1-ton payload capacity, the Tracker Edition also has a heavy-duty power winch that can pull stuck vehicles up to 12,000 lb (5,443 kg). The protective skid plates and a set of all-terrain tires then prevent damage on the truck’s underside and help it crawl over terrain..
It also stands 2-inches higher, and has a water wading depth that’s expected to go beyond the standard 800mm. As an added bonus, it’s fitted with a real-time digital tire pressure monitoring system as standard, which is a first in its class.
Additional features of the Colorado 4x4 Tracker Edition are a 6,000 lb tow hitch with electrical receiver, dash and reversing cameras, and a matte-finish roll bar.
For maximum driving experience, on- or off-road, the Colorado Tracker Edition comes with a 2nd generation Duramax 2.8L 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, rated at 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission then distributes propulsion to all 4 wheels.
The Chevrolet Colorado 4x4 Tracker Edition MT is now on sale, tagged with a price of P1,588,888 (or P50,000 more than the Colorado 4x4 AT LTZ). It comes in 7 exterior colors: Summit White, Black Sapphire, Sizzled Red, Auburn Brown, Moroccan Blue, Royal Grey, and Switchblade Silver.
Like other Chevrolets in the line-up, this truck carries a 3-year warranty, plus 2 extra years for the powertrain, or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
