With a deck of MX-5 RF, CX-5, and CX-9, Japanese automaker Mazda also displayed an updated BT-50 at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
Although the 2017 BT-50 doesn’t share the KODO – Soul of Motion design code as seen on all 3 above-mentioned vehicle. The pickup truck gets a number of exterior aesthetics. At the front, it gets a fine-looking smoked headlamps, a new grille design with chrome accent at the bottom, and a restyled bumper. The back features new pair of taillights, too, as the car gets a set of newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels.
Meanwhile, the cabin remains untouched as it retains all its standard features, as well as safety equipments. It has an automatic dimming rear view mirror, a Bluetooth voice command, and leather seats.
Power rating remains the same as the 2.2L CRDi engine remains seated under the hood for the standard variant. Mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, this churns up 150 hp and 375 Nm of torque. The top of the line variant, on the other hand, still has the 3.2L CRDi with 200 hp and 470 Nm. It is still paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The price for the facelifted BT-50 has went slightly higher. The manual variant is tagged at P1,350,000, while the automatic is at P1,395,000. Moreover, the 3.2L 4WD variant has a price tag of P1,550,000. The 2017 BT-50 is available in the following exterior colors: Aluminum Metallic, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Titanium Flash, and Cool White.
