MINI has revealed the Vision Next 100 concept which give us a glimpse of the brand’s future design philosophy. The concept is fitted with connectivity breakthroughs as well as a revolutionary exterior styling.
The exterior is recognizable with its roof and rounded fender flares. MINI says the Vision Next 100 concept comes with an adaptive exterior which they call “blank canvas.” The said black canvas allows the user to tweak its design. In addition, the roof and lights inside the vehicle can be customized with colors and graphics that can match the driver’s mood for a personalized experience.
All of these are to be controlled through the circular central console called the “Cooperizer.” The Cooperizer is integrated with multiple functions which include the settings for both conventional and autonomous driving.
Moreover, the whole interior of the MINI Vision Next 100 Concept is uncluttered as all the gauges and controls are removed. The glass front end will give a panoramic view of the road, while the augmented reality display will show routes or the ideal driving line for a different driving experience. The entire cabin space is generous, enhanced by full-width bench seats.
Lastly, with digitalization, connectivity, and artificial intelligence in place, future owners will also become a part of a MINI community. Much like social media, they can share experiences that are tailor-fitted to their own preferences and interests.
The MINI Vision Next 100 shows how MINI's unique take on [how] the world could look in the future. The driving experience remains the emotional centerpiece, with effortless and seamless services grouped around it," said Anders Warming, Head of MINI Design.
The future of MINI is here. Although, it won’t be in production for the next several years, it shows MINI's possible design direction, which is something to look forward to.
