Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) recently unveiled the latest version of the Outlander Sport for 2016. Known locally as the ASX, this updated model showcases Mitsubishi’s new “Dynamic Shield” front fascia seen in the latest Montero Sport. But there’s more to it than just a pretty face.
Mitsubishi also did subtle changes elsewhere in and around the vehicle. For instance, it now has power folding side mirrors with LED turn signals. Further down, they’ve fitted it with blacked-out front and rear fender moldings that highlight the newly-designed 18 inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the latest Outlander Sport invites with pretty much the same interior layout as before but with new bits to freshen up the vibe. These include a redesigned steering wheel and a new 6.1 inch display audio system.
Beating under the hood is the same 2.0L inline 4-cylinder MIVEC gasoline engine which cranks out 148 hp and 197 Nm of torque. These figures are put into motion via INVECS-III CVT.
As subtle as these changes may be, seeing the latest Mitsubishi ASX on Philippine roads is still something to look forward to. However, it is still unknown whether Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) will bring it here.
In the meantime, the current ASX model is still available locally. For more information about the Mitsubishi ASX, visit the AutoDeal Car Guide.
