Mitsubishi PH 600,000th production milestone

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) celebrated their 600,000th unit production milestone. The tally was based on the combined outputs from their former assembly plant in Cainta, Rizal and their current facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

MMPC began manufacturing vehicles in 1964 and was then known as Chrysler Philippine Corporation. At the time, they were able to produce such models as the Dodge Colt, Minica F4, Lancer, Cimarron, and Mitsubishi trucks. They stood the test of time and came out strong amidst trials like the ‘80s economic recession and the late ‘90s Asian Financial Crisis.

MMPC is currently the nation’s second biggest automotive manufacturer, with the L300 cab chassis and the Adventure AUV being their locally-made models for the last 30 and 20 years, respectively. These models are greatly accepted by the Philippine market for their high quality, performance, versatility, and competitive prices. But most importantly, the production and sales of these models empowered MMPC’s workforce and even generated new jobs with the help of their parts suppliers and dealerships nationwide.

Of note, MMPC has been gearing up for the production of the latest Mirage and Mirage G4 models for their participation in the government’s Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) Program.
