Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) recently launched the refreshed Lancer EX. It now boasts an enhanced, more aggressive front fascia as well as new features for the 1.6 L GLS and 2.0 L GT-A variants.
While still bearing the same curves and lines, the Lancer EX now sports a new aggressive front bumper design with built-in Daylight Running Lamps (DRL) on its flanks. The GT-A variant, meanwhile, will come standard with chrome accents and high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. Moreover, the GT-A variant comes standard with adaptive front lighting system, auto-headlight, and rain sensing wipers.
In addition, the Lancer EX’s alloy wheels have a new design and comes in 2-tone color scheme. The GLS sits on a set of 16-inch alloy wheels while the GT-A is fitted with 18-inch.
Inside, this Japanese compact sedan is equipped with a new multimedia entertainment system that has a built-in GPS and can connect via USB and Bluetooth for your convenience.
The updated Lancer EX will come with 2 powerplant options. The GLS variant will have a 117 hp 1.6 L 16-valve DOHC with MIVEC which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the GT-A variant will come standard with a 150 hp 2.0 L 16-Valve DOHC with MIVEC. This will be with a CVT with 6-speed Sportronic Shift mode that can be controlled by paddle shifters for a more spirited driving experience.
In terms of safety, the vehicle is equipped with seatbelts with pre-tensioner and force limiters, 7-airbags, and 4-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD).
Color options for this compact sedan include Sonic Blue, Amazon Red, Virgil Gray, White Solid, Carbon Black, Warm Silver Mettalic (GLS variant only), and Sterling Silver Mettalic (GT-A variant only). The GLS has a price tag of P848,000 while the GT-A is available for P1,235,000.
