Metro Manila Film Festival

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement road closures in Manila City for the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) parade on December 23.

In a report by the Manila Bulletin, MMFF spokesperson Celine Pialago said that roads will be closed hours before the parade starts in the afternoon. However, Pialago did not specify the exact time.

This year’s MMFF Parade of Stars will start at the Manila City Hall, along Nicanor Lopez Street, and follow the said route:

  • Right turn on Taft Avenue
  • Straight to Jones Bridge and Quentin Paredes Street in Chinatown
  • Right turn on Reina Regente Street
  • Right turn on Claro Recto Avenue
  • Left turn on Rizal Avenue
  • Right turn on Fugoso Street
  • Right turn on Quezon Boulevard
  • Straight to Plaza Miranda

The MMFF Parade of Stars will occupy a single lane of the said roads. Moreover, the MMDA is expecting fans to flock the area which may cause heavy traffic. The agency is also advising motorists to avoid parking their vehicles on the said parade route.

MMDA Supervising Operations Officer Bong Nebrija said the MMDA will deploy 11 tow trucks to clear illegally parked vehicles along the route as early as Friday morning.

This year’s MMFF entries are the following: Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 2: Forever Is not Enough, Die Beautiful, Oro Kabisera, Saving Sally, Seklusyon, Sunday Beauty Queen, and Vince & Kath & James.
