To ensure the protection of their valued customer, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently announced their initiative to conduct a safety check up on some of their models. These include several units of the older version Lancer, Lancer Evolution IX, and Fuzion.
This proactive measure is inline with an announcement by their head company Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Japan. It concerns the alleged malfunction of the said models’ supplied airbag inflators. Thankfully, there are no reports of any accidents in the Philippines with regards to the issue.
According to MMPC, the safety inspection centers on the 2006 to 2009 models of the Lancer, 2009 to 2010 models of the Lancer Evolution IX, and 2005 to 2008 models of the Fuzion. They also stated that the inspection and/or replacement process will last about 2 hours and is free of charge.
If you own any of the units mentioned above, you may have it checked by jotting down your unit’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and have it confirmed using MMPC’s online VIN verification page. Lastly, drive to the nearest Mitsubishi dealership to you.
