Nissan gets EyesOn award for Best Concept Vehicle at NAIAS

When Nissan introduced the Vmotion 2.0 concept at this year’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), we knew that it will be an attention grabber. As a testament to its striking design, it won the 2017 EyesOn Design Award for Best Concept Vehicle in NAIAS.

The Vmotion 2.0 concept essentially previews the future design of Nissan’s sedans, such as the Altima. It shows a more aggressive and angular exterior design, a layout that could pose a challenge to its fellow Japanese competitors such as Toyota and Mazda.

Furthermore, the vehicle also won the award for Best Innovative Use of Color, Graphics and Materials.

This prestigious award, earned from top design leaders from around the world, exemplifies the enormous potential of Nissan’s newest design direction. We’re honored to be here and excited to continue to show the world the limitless capability of Nissan design.” said Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. executive design director for Nissan Global Design Strategy Mamoru Aoki.

The Nissan Vmotion 2.0 concept features the revolutionized “V-motion” front design signature evident on many Nissan products today. The Silver Copper finish, a combination of copper and other metals, added the distinct layered effect of the concept car.

As previously reported, if the new Altima will look similar with the concept, we think that it has a good chance to surpass its rivals in the midsize sedan segment.
