New and pimped up Chevrolet Trailblazer and Colorado debut in Thailand

The Chevrolet Trailblazer and Colorado remain to be hot items among the pickup truck and midsize SUV segments since their launch years ago. Now, their much awaited update and its pimped up versions have been revealed at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand.

The new duo shows the new direction that Chevrolet is headed to in terms of design. An exciting sight, if you ask us, as it may not be too long until Chevrolet Philippines brings these 2 into our shores.

Colorado Xtreme

As the name suggests, the Colorado Xtreme is equipped with accessories so that it can conquer extreme road (and off-road) conditions. It has engine hood scoops, side plates on the sports bar, front safari bar with LED light strip and winch, roof basket with an integrated LED light bar, huge fender flares, and a snorkel – all in matte black to solidify the extrovert appeal.

To complete the package, the pickup comes in Furnace Orange exterior color which really goes well with the accessories. Add the 18-inch all-terrain tires with orange trimmings and you got a monster ready to tackle the roughest terrain.

But behind these accessories, you can see the subtle new styling of the Colorado's grille. It's still separated into 2, but it's a little less curvy than its predecessor. That goes the same for the head and tail lamps; they're almost the same but with a little tweak to change its demeanor. Plus, you get to enjoy the new LED daytime running lights.

Of course, the accessories will come as an option to the normal consumer. However, for off-road junkies out there, these are must haves.

Trailblazer Premier

As the 7-seater cousin of the Colorado, the Trailblazer gets updates that are almost similar to the monstrous pickup truck. Its head lamps are now squinty and donned with LED daytime running lights. The separated grilles are now wider and covered in chrome and who wouldn't notice those new 22-inch 10-spoke rims?

The new Trailblazer retains its reputation as a premium family vehicle that can take extreme conditions. It's a mix of comfort and style with a subtle hint of ruggedness whenever needed.

In fact, its interior gets premium upgrades such as the 2-tone instrument panel with detailed stitching and wooden trims. Its head unit gets upgraded to an 8-inch touchscreen system with MyLink. The seats are clothed with premium brown leather with handmade netting on the driver and front passenger seats.

Question is, when will these 2 face-lifted models reach our country? The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet cars in the Philippines, is still quiet about it but this could be sooner than we think. Once they’re here, they will surely shake the hot competition between local pickup trucks and SUVs. For now, the current models of the Colorado and the Trailblazer are still available in the local showrooms.
