Honda has unleashed the 2017 Civic Type R Prototype at this year’s Paris Motor Show. It features a mean looking and aggressive exterior that could make you stop and stare.
The Type R Prototype is based on the new Civic hatchback. It is integrated with body and aerodynamic modifications, which in turn made the vehicle more aggressive and more muscular. Up front, it is fitted with the iconic red “H” badge, a revamped bumper, a large air intake, a carbon fiber splitter, and red accent line. The Civic Type R Prototype also has a hood scoop as well as smoked lenses for the LED headlights and indicators.
The rear gets a carbon fiber diffuser, a prominent bumper, a spoiler, and 3 center-mounted tailpipes. The Civic Type R Prototype is finished off with 20-inch piano black alloy wheels with red accent.
Honda has yet to announce the powertrain details of the Civic Type R Prototype. However, the Japanese automaker did confirm that it will be officially unveiled in production form next year.
The Civic Type R will be produced at Honda’s Swindon plant in the U.K., the global manufacturing hub for the 5-door hatchback. On the other hand, there’s no word yet if Honda Philippines will bring the mean looking Civic Type R in the local market.
