Barely two years after launching the brand, Peugeot Philippines has appointed a new president to assume operations, beginning March 24. Glen Dasig, 42, who was part of the BMW success story has been tasked to lead the brand. Many feel that this is a wise choice, given his youth, energy and impressive track record in both sales and marketing.
Dasig takes over from industry veteran Felix Mabilog Jr, who has been hailed by his principals for taking the brand from below zero to become the second highest performing distributor in the region (second only to Malaysia) where they enjoy local assembly, and has held this position for two consecutive years.
Mabilog also developed an unprecedented network of 10 dealerships nationwide and has not only been tasked to do the same with Mahindra, which is a another new brand under the Alvarez group, but will also assume the role of Vice Chairman of Peugeot.
“Starting up a brand is a very challenging task, one that was embraced by Mr. Mabilog who set it up and established the dealer network in such a short period of time.” Dasig says.
“Combined with a sales performance that made Peugeot Philippines number 2 in the ASEAN market under the Peugeot Asia organization, the initial plan has now been firmly executed in place. I am excited to take the Peugeot brand to the next level and bring it closer to the hearts of the Filipinos by taking the best of what the French have to offer.”
