The updated Mitsubishi ASX has made its local debut at the 6th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Featuring a new face along with minor design changes, the ASX is ready to stir the crossover segment.
The ASX now wears the brand’s ‘Dynamic Shield’ front design which is Mitsubishi’s new corporate look. To put things in perspective, the said front design can also be seen in the new Montero Sport.
As compared to its predecessor, the new face of the ASX is more aggressive and bolder. Other design changes fitted to the ASX are the following: new 18-inch alloy wheels and revamped side mirrors, which now comes with turn signals. The rear, on the other hand, did not receive major design updates.
Of note, the ASX comes with 3-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, and paddle shifters.
Safety-wise, the ASX is equipped with driver and passenger airbags; anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD); brake assist system; and brake override system.
Under the hood, the ASX is still powered by the same 2.0L MIVEC gasoline engine that delivers 150 hp and 197 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed ‘Sportronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
