Volkswagen Caddy

Volkswagen has debuted the Caddy at the 6th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), expanding the brand’s MPV line-up.

The exterior of the Caddy resembles the design of the Touran as seen through its similar fascia and the overall styling of the vehicle body. However, the Caddy is fitted with sliding doors while the Touran comes with swing doors, similar to sedans. Of note, Volkswagen’s new MPV can accommodate up to 7 occupants, ideal for typical Filipino families.

Based on the 5th generation Golf, the Caddy is bigger in dimensions as compared to the Touran. It measures 481 mm longer and 219 mm taller. Moreover, its wheelbase is longer by 328 mm. As a vehicle designed to be a people-mover or a family car, the Caddy is said to offer flexible seating configuration as well as generous cargo space.

In terms of safety, the Caddy is equipped with 4 airbags, an Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), hill hold control, and cruise control.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.0L Turbo Direct Injection (TDI) diesel engine that delivers 140 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It is then mated to a 6-speed dual-cutch transmission and comes with 4Motion (all-wheel-drive) drivetrain.

The Caddy is priced at P1,550,000 and it is available in the following exterior colors: Candy White, Toffee Brown, Reflex Silver, Natural Grey, Lava Red, Night Blue, and Deep Black Pearl.
