ssangyong philippines sales report

A year after their return to the Philippine shores in 2016, SsangYong Philippines posted a phenomenal 140% sales growth of their lineup of SUV/crossovers. This ultimately shows warm welcome for SsangYong Berjaya Motor Philippines (SBMP), the exclusive distributor of the SsangYong vehicles and parts in the country.

SBMP’s sales numbers in 2017 were catered through two full-service dealerships in Quezon City and Cebu.

According to SBMP, the Tivoli subcompact crossover led the charts by contributing 43% to their total sales for 2017. Its longer and diesel counterpart, the Tivoli XLV, posted great numbers too, taking 29% of the total sales figures for the same year.

In addition, the Rodius MPV ranked third in the sales ranking, taking 20% of the pie for the South Korean marque. With its nameplate honored as the winner of the 2017 Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Economy Run, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Rodius will sell more this year, considering the Filipino’s inclination to buy fuel-efficient cars.

Lastly, the Korando compact SUV concluded the report, taking up 8% of SBMP’s total sales for 2017.

We are very pleased with the increased presence of SsangYong vehicles on our roads and the growing public acceptance of the brand this past year. Despite the challenges brought upon by our limited sales footprint, we at SsangYong have continued to pursue heightened awareness and exposure for the brand. We believe that our products are practical, value-laden alternatives to the rest of the market’s offerings and delivering them to more customers remains our goal this 2018. The brand lives up to its promise to deliver total customer satisfaction by ensuring top-level service and providing free PMS for three years and extending our product’s warranty coverage from two to five years. This innovation which we undertook in 2017 has made owning a SsangYong vehicle a truly pleasing experience.

Aside from the lineup of cars, SBMP also offers sales, service, and spare parts in their two dealerships: SsangYong Quezon Avenue and SsangYong Cebu. In addition, SsangYong vehicles come with free three years (or 60,000 km, whichever comes first) of preventive maintenance service (PMS), as well as five years (or 100,000 km, whichever comes first) of vehicle warranty.
