Subaru Outback, Forester, and XV sweep 2016 AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards

Subaru adds another accolade into their account this year as the recently concluded AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards went well for the Japanese automaker – particularly their crossover SUVs.

The Outback wins Best-in-Class for Premium Midsize Crossover SUV while the Forester wins Best-in-Class Midsize Crossover SUV. Moreover, the Crosstrek (dubbed as XV locally) wins the Best-in-Class Compact Crossover for 2016.

AutoPacific is an automotive research and consulting firm that yearly publishes a wide variety of “syndicated studies” on the automotive industry. With this, AutoPacific conducted a survey in the United States and asked owners of new model 2015 and 2016 vehicles across all major manufacturers after 90 days of ownership.

The survey includes 15 questions which received correspondence from more than 65,000 vehicle owners. The respondents include recommendation to change something in their car in 5 key areas: ride and handling, interior storage, safety features, power and acceleration, and technology.

George Peterson, president of AutoPacific, said that their study not only identifies problem areas and opportunities for improvement, but also validates if manufacturers are meeting their customers’ standards.

There were 24 categories in the survey by AutoPacific, in which Subaru sweeps the crossover segment. The customers indicated that their wants and needs were matched by the Japanese marque.
