Subaru promotes a healthy lifestyle with the first ever Subaru Marathon

Subaru will not stop at just bringing beautiful cars into our country; they are now also promoting a healthy and proactive lifestyle as well. In partnership with RunRio Inc., the first ever Subaru Marathon was recently held at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds, Pasay City.

This is brought to us by Motor Image Pilipinas Inc., the official distributor of Subaru Cars in the Philippines.

There were 4 different race categories: 5k, 10k, 21k, and 42k, where over 6,000 registered runners were recorded. The 42k race kicked off at 2am, with runners going through Mall of Asia, Roxas Boulevard, Buendia, going to Kalayaan avenue passing by the Subaru Manila Bay and Global City showrooms.

After the race, runners and guests were treated with fun-filled activities at the race village, as well as photo booths, giveaways from sponsors, more fitness activities, and heart pumping music sets from Kat DJ.

Premium items from Subaru and the race sponsors, as well cash prizes, were awarded to the top finishers of the race. The 42k category ended with a photo finish with 2 foreign runners sprinting to the finish line. Kenyan David Kipsang won the duel, with a time of 02:47:24, with his countryman Joackim Kemboi closely behind him, losing by a split second interval. Cristabel Martes took the third place with a time of 3:00:26.

With the success and positive turnout of the first Subaru Marathon, MIPI was not only able to support and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. They were also able to showcase the company's core technologies that provide performance and safety that is standard to their vehicle line-up.

The event is part of Subaru’s drive to communicate the different types of active lifestyles that their models can compliment. For more information about Subaru and its range of products, you can visit the AutoDeal Car Guide.
